Eva is 9 pounds 11 oz. 22.5 inches now!

 

Can't believe that I have stayed at home for almost 1 month, didn't go anywhere but in bed. It is good to have someone (my mom and hubby) take care of me, and I just relax. Of course, my project is Eva. Feeding and changing diaper day and night is my only job.

 

I wanted to write something in my blog for long time, but always found excuse not to do so (because I was so sleepy). Eva is sleeping now, I want to use this break to review our first month after Eva's arrival.

 

4/28/2006: Daddy and Mommy went to see doctor (Ken Liu) in the morning. Also we planed to have lunch with Susan who came from Ireland for a visit. Eva was 3 days over due, and still showed no sign of coming out. Doctor checked Eva's size and heart in 3 mins, then decided to send mommy to labor and delivery right away. Although we were eager to see baby, still felt un-prepared when Dr told us to do so. Thinking that we will see baby tonight, we were so happy.

        10:30, Mommy was in room 9 with so many pipes in right arm.

        12:00, daddy went home to bring camera for baby's first photo

        14:00, Dr stop by, mommy was watching TV, no sign for pain, no progress.

        17:00, Dr stop by, mommy was reading newspaper, no sign for pain, no progress

        20:00, Dr stop by, surprised to see mommy was still watching PPlive with laptop. no progress. At the same time, his other 3 patients had finished delivery. There was no hope for us to see baby today, we were discharged at mid night, and were told to come in again next day.

 

 

4/29/2006: We arrived hospital at 8:00AM. Lynn sent us to room 7.

       8:30, with all pipes

       12:00, little progress

       13:00, mommy started to feel pain

       14:40, all pain went away with epidural.

       18:00, water broken

       20:00, mommy thought she was ready to push, and it was.

       20:30, Dr showed up and everything was ready.

       20:53, Eva was born. Lalala, she is little, only 6 pounds 15 oz, 20 inches.

 

5/1/2006: Yao family went home at 11:00AM.

 

Week of 5/1, daddy stayed at home, helped to chang diapers day and night. Eva slept in bed for most of time. Eva's face was in yellow because of jaundic.

Week of 5/8, daddy went to work with red eyes. Eva slept most of time.

Week of 5/15, mommy started to feel better and take diaper changing at night. Eva wake up more and eat more as well. Not as as much as other babys, only 1 oz.

Week of 5/22. Daddy and Mommy got used to getting up 3 times at night, managed to sleep more on weekend. Eva likes to sleep in our arm, starts to cry when we put her in bed. She is already spoiled. (our bad). She eats 2 oz now, and pretends to cough if she doesn't like feeding. I didn't teach her like this.

 

Most people told us not to store so many new norn diapers since baby would grow out of it very quickly, 1 bag is enough.However, Eva used 4 bags of diaper in 3 weeks.

 

Eva has so many new cloths, furnitures and toys, they are gifts from all over the world -- Paul, Wendy, Lei and Catherine from Seattle, Yiming from Chicago,Cassie and Susan from Ireland, Jian from Italy,  Chong-suk from Japan, Xiyu and Haiyan from China, Yuting from Taiwan. Of course, there are a lot of local friends, they are Hongwu couple, Ye couple, Xiaohan couple, Xiaoying couple, Dan, Qinjia couple, Shuyu couple, Sun Xiang couple, Christine couple, Francis couple,Hiroko, Anita, lorraine, gerardz's team.  Also special thanks to IS Client team, they hold a secrate baby shower for mommy, mommy feels so proud and warm to work with these nice people.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Baby Eva was born on 4/29 8:53 PM (PST) at EL Camino hospital. Weight 6 pounds 15 oz, 20 inches long.
